Simple Application Overview
Calculating Facet / Concept Means
Created by jdeboel on 10/26/2010 11:08:50 AM
Drobots reports the means for each facet / concept graphically. You start by selecting the concept and/or the facets you want to see are part of, at the top of the page.
If there are less than 7 facets / concepts to show, the graph will appear as a horizontal bar chart. You can choose to switch to a vertical bar chart. If there are 7 or more facets to show, the graph will be a radar plot, which you can change into a line chart using the context menu. (Right mouse button menu)
Using the right mouse button you can change the graph’s display settings.
On the right of the graph you can choose the range, in case you want to better visualize or zoom in on the differences between the various results.
A
drill down analysis
is a graph that plots the data in the facet according to the categories of a
split variable
.
On facet level you-, as the name indicates, choose to plot facet data to a split variable. Select the correct concept and facet; and select the Split variable at the top of the page.
If you want to know whether
means
are significantly different from each other, see “Survey Analyser » Facet Level » Group Comparison”.

An example:
A course satisfaction study (see “DEMO” dataset) is set up by a university to find out what students think about the quality of the education the school offers.
When analysing the results using drill down, the researcher wants to visualize what the general perception is on material for each course.
In the “Means » Drill down” analysis, the researcher needs only to select the concept “Material” and the split variable “Course”.
