Ranking facets / concepts Created by jdeboel on 10/26/2010 11:13:44 AM
The “Ranking » Facets” / Concepts analysis generates a thermometer graph upon which the various facets / concepts are plotted. The color scale of this graph is intelligently generated using an algorithm which takes into account the means of the facet / concept values.
Therefore, the lowest value will always be placed in the lowest gradient. (standard= red)
Another conclusion is that the items in red aren’t necessarily bad scores, but it certainly means that they are the items that need your attention.
A drill down analysis is a thermo-graph that plots the means of the chosen concept according to the groups in a split variable.

An example:
A course satisfaction study (see “DEMO” dataset) is set up by a university to find out what students think about the quality of the education the school offers.
When analysing the results using drill down, the researcher wants to visualize what the general perception is on the course is structured; for each course. He mainly wants to see what items score best and worst, and he wants to see on a scale; what the relative positions among the courses are.
In the “Ranking » Drill down” analyser, the researcher needs only to select the concept “Material”, the facet “Structure” and the split variable “Course”.
